Mock Job Interview Reflection

While interviewing my classmate I could feel how an interviewer wants the interview to be and the expectations they expect from the person they are going to hire. Seeing it from that perspective made me realize how it has to be done and made me feel more prepared. When I was being interviewed by my classmate I felt very nervous and overwhelmed and my mind was constantly struggling to try to process the information. More on, my answers to my questions were good and consistent, Although the personal questions were easy to answer, the questions about the job specifically were a little bit harder since I’ve never had a job before and so I couldn’t think of something impressive to make them notice me. And, if anyone is experiencing a similar situation a tip would be to pretend you’re calm even when you’re not and always have a gentle and nice attitude, confidence is key since you’ll be around people most of the time you’ll be working. if this interview was real I wouldn’t have got the job since I didn’t prepare and I wasn’t being as fluent as I wished, however, this activity was really helpful and it made me understand what an employer is looking for.  For example, if the employer asks you: What qualifications do you think you have for this job? a correct answer would be: I believe in teamwork, I am a very trustworthy and responsible person who’s willing to learn and cooperate for an enjoyable work environment… you have to look decisive and honest so the employer can feel and understand your point.
